Pantheras
Pantheras are the most widespread species of Pantherias primate. They were native to Yanti before achieving spaceflight. Pantheras are the dominant species of the Rogers Republic and enjoy the highest level of representation within that government's politics. Native Pantheras inhabit ten worlds.<ref name="population"/>
History
The first Pantheran to leave Yanti were exiled following the global semi-unification, which saw a large portion of the populous northern hemisphere fall under the flag of the Yan Brotherhood, a totalitarian order. The exiles were discovered in their generation ship by a Rhyno Navy Picket Fleet.
The small flotilla returned the refugees to Yanti, where, with the help of the superior Rhyno firepower, it swept aside the Brotherhood Navy, resulting in planetary occupation by Confederate peacekeepers.
With the help of the Rhyno Confederacy, the rescued exiles dismantled the Brotherhood and were accepted as a member state of the Confederation. The resulting unification brought new commerce and opportunities to the people of Yanti. The initial diaspora of native Pantheran to nearby stars left birthrates very low on their native Yanti, which led to Pantheran becoming classified as almost extinct on their homeworld.
Following the fall of the Rhyno Confederacy, most Pantherans did not support the Rew Confederacy. Many Pantheran worked hard with the Rogers family, one of their own, and a deep sense of racial pride was carried by Pantheran as the Rogers Republic rose to power.
Habitat
Early Pantheran settlements depended on proximity to water and grassland, populations of animal prey for hunting, and arable land for growing crops and grazing livestock. Their homeworld was semi-arid, and the Pantherans' natural resistance to heat led to large, spacious open cities that do not rise high into the atmosphere but sprawl across the plains.
Panthera have maintained their prominent, flat sprawl aesthetic even as they've encountered other species that have adopted more modern architecture.

Biology

Most aspects of Pantheran physiology are closely homologous to corresponding aspects of humanoid lion physiology. Pantheran are notable for their thick facial hair and muscular bodies. Pantheran reproduction takes place by internal fertilization via sexual intercourse; both male and female anatomy is required for reproduction. Pantheran are omnivorous, capable of consuming various plant and animal material. Predominant canine teeth result in a cultural preference for fresh meat.
Lifespan
Pre-confederate Pantheran had an average life span of around 50 galactic standard years. Following years of genetic modification and nutritional plentitude, their average life span has quadrupled to almost 200 galactic standard years.
Culture
Pantheran live in extended-family based social structures with housing for their smaller family circles within the larger community.
